Dog Friendly Beaches
Saunton Sands Beach

Saunton Sands is a dog-friendly beach that allows dogs all year round. This beautiful, 3-mile stretch of golden sand is perfect for long walks, beach games, and cooling off in the surf. Saunton Sands is located between the dog-friendly villages of Croyde and Braunton, making it an ideal beach stop.
Hele Bay (Near Ilfracombe)

For a quieter experience, Hele Bay is a small, peaceful beach that’s dog-friendly all year round. It’s perfect for a calm day with your dog, where you can both enjoy the stunning coastal views and tranquil atmosphere.
Rockham/ Mortehoe Beach (Near Ilfracombe)
Location: Mortehoe, near Ilfracombe (approx 50 minute drive from The Mole)
Rockham Beach is accessible only at low tide, which gives it a more secluded, peaceful feel. You can park in Mortehoe and take a coastal path to reach the beach. It’s a great spot for dogs to explore and enjoy the surf without large crowds.
Instow Beach
Location: Instow, North Devon (approx 35 minutes from The Mole)
Instow Beach is a popular dog-friendly beach located on the estuary of the River Torridge. It’s ideal for a relaxed day out with your dog, as it allows for off-lead play, and the sandy shore is perfect for walking along the water’s edge. This beach offers plenty of space for your dog to run freely, and with views across to Appledore, it’s also a picturesque place to visit. After your beach stroll, grab a coffee at one of the local dog-friendly cafes along the beach.
